Busy playing together.
And “playing” alone, each in our own way.
Busy tackling a fear of heights in a big way [Simon].
Enjoying having no fear. [Elsa Ruth]
Or discovering an unknown fear of heights [Scott]…at least on this particular occasion.
It’s not all leisure around here though. Scott’s research is well underway and he’s begun teaching a Sustainable Energy class for 30 engineering students this semester. My days feel filled with constant unpacking, laundry, and packing up again to enable the above travel. I’m also enjoying volunteering with two different programs twice a week. Simon is busy playing violin in early morning ensemble, swimming, and homework, which this year includes an oral report in English or Afrikaans every Friday. In addition to schoolwork, violin, and swimming, Elsa Ruth is always busy making something to give away or to decorate our home.
We’re sounding like true Americans talking of all this busyness, aren’t we!? Actually, it’s a nice balance at the moment for which we’re thankful. You’ll be glad to know we do take time for the important things- couldn’t pass up this opportunity.
