It seems a shame to skip over NJ and PA but it’s really time to load the van and check in for flights. Suffice it to say, we had a super time reconnecting with cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers, grandparents, and old friends. We celebrated 4th of July with a whole lot of Pryors, chased fireflies, cheered on the USA women in the World Cup, ate ice cream, had a movie night in Grandma’s family room, and splashed in the neighbor’s pool.
And now we start the marathon. Three flights including the second longest on earth from Atlanta to Johannesburg, 8,439 miles – 16.5 hours! (If you’re curious the longest is Dallas to Sydney – 8,578 – 17 hours).
We were sent this Chinese wish from a friend who said it is spoken to travelers: 路平安 It means “one road peaceful” – a great send-off we are hoping will take us through! Next post from the other side.
